Casa Tortuga is one of three rental houses on a on a single large property in a residential neighborhood right in the middle of Santa Teresa beach. It is a 2 bed-2 bath home, suitable for 4 people, but can accommodate up to 6 by converting the upper level communal area into a bedroom. For larger groups it can also be rented in conjunction with Casa Pelicano which is on the same property and run by the same owners. These houses offer excellent value for money being well equipped and meticulously maintained, perfect for those looking for a high level of comfort without the need for luxury frills.

Casa Tortuga enjoys privacy, serenity and security. With it's own swimming pool, palm roof gazebo and mature tropical gardens, you may even find it hard to get out of one of the hammocks and make the short two-minute walk to the white sand beaches and quality surf that make Santa Teresa such a wonderful place.

The house is practically on the beach, the uncrowded white sand beach and glassy surf waves are a 150 yards or quick 2 minute walk away. You'll see beautiful sunsets right in front of the property, especially in the summer. The water temperature is 80+ degrees all year round and the surf is world-class. Low tide is the perfect time to walk on the beach or to jog, or simply take a grass matt to the beach and get a suntan.

The house is comfortable and functional, and reflects the casual elegance of Costa Rican living. The breezy open social side of the house offers three double sliders to the pool area. A large kitchen with a counter-top bar and comforatable living room with a color TV both overlook the swimming pool area, surrounded by tropical gardens. The kitchen is very well equiped and comes with a large new refrigerator, four-burner gas stove with oven, and a wide variety of the kitchen utensils and cooking accesories.

Down the hall from the social area, is the first floor master bedroom, which offers a king bed, separate A/C, ample closet space, a large private bathroom and a two double sliders to the outdoor gazebo and pool area, complete with outdoor shower and a discrete area to hang wet clothes.

Upstairs there is a bedroom with 2 single beds, ample closet space and a large bathroom. The upstairs balconies enjoy scenic mountain and ocean views. This upper level has a communal area which can be converted to a 3rd bedroom if necessary.

All bedrooms and living areas are well equipped with ceiling fans and A/C. Casa Tortuga is tastefully decorated with local tropical hardwood furniture.

Private parking for two vehicles, utilities, maid service, beach towels and mats and all other fees are all included. For your comfort and convenience there is also a safe, ADT Alarm system and Direct TV. Come, relax, and enjoy the beach, the picturesque sunsets, and all the natural beauty that makes Casa Tortuga in Santa Teresa a truly amazing place.

• 50% of rental amount required to hold reservation
• Remaining 50% required at check-in
• $250 damage deposit at check-in

Cancellations and refunds

• No refunds given unless house rebooked for same period
• If rebooked, full refund given minus $100 cancellation charge.

Amenities

Malpais and Santa Teresa

Slightly off the beaten track is the restful, magical beach front village of Malpais, near the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Principally a surfing and travelling spot, Malpais and its neighbour Santa Teresa have in recent years also piqued the interest of the more discerning luxury traveller looking for more privacy and seclusion in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. Various celebrities have been known to rent villas in the Malpais area, including model Giselle Bundchen who has recently built a house in the area.

The influx of foregin tourists has given the area a delightful mix of tourist amenities, whilst still retaining its natural feel. The beaches are uncluttered by chairs and umbrellas and the roads are unpaved, but there is a wide selection of international restaurants and activities available.

As always, the surf and beaches in this area are fantastic, with a long stretch of white sand beaches providing good swells and variety for surfers, and large rock-pools (often filled with tropical fish) providing a more tranquil experience for those not on boards.

There are a host of villa rental options in the area, both for surfing groups on more of a budget as well as those looking for high-end luxury. The villa owners in the area tend to be of a discerning taste, which has lead to some breathtaking and unique-design vacation rentals in the area, with the focus being on indoor-outdoor living.
