The Hill Top house is one of 2 houses on a property with a world class view over miles and miles of the Malpais and Santa Teresa coastline. The house is ideal for 6, can accommodate 8 if necessary, or can be rented in conjunction with the Wave watcher villa which is a short walk away.

In total the house has 3 bedrooms, (1 king, 2 queens), and the master suite has a beautiful en-suite bathroom. The house is a mix of Mexican and Balinesian styles and is completely 'open-air'. Although really not necessary due to the house's position, mosquito nets are provided for all the beds.

The house sits 500 feet above the ocean on top of a mountain over looking the ocean in all directions. Enjoy the most amazing sunsets every night. The home has an infinity pool that offers you the most amazing views of the coast -line. From the master bedroom, your steps walk right into the pool. The master bedroom also has a spectacular open air shower that offers incredible views of the ocean with total privacy. The pristine jungle is all around you and you will find the most beautiful and amazing animals such as birds, butterflies, Howler Monkey's and so much more. The house is very private; no one will bother you unless you need the services of the concierge, gardener, chef or maid for any reason.

Malpais and Santa Teresa

Slightly off the beaten track is the restful, magical beach front village of Malpais, near the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Principally a surfing and travelling spot, Malpais and its neighbour Santa Teresa have in recent years also piqued the interest of the more discerning luxury traveller looking for more privacy and seclusion in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. Various celebrities have been known to rent villas in the Malpais area, including model Giselle Bundchen who has recently built a house in the area.

The influx of foregin tourists has given the area a delightful mix of tourist amenities, whilst still retaining its natural feel. The beaches are uncluttered by chairs and umbrellas and the roads are unpaved, but there is a wide selection of international restaurants and activities available.

As always, the surf and beaches in this area are fantastic, with a long stretch of white sand beaches providing good swells and variety for surfers, and large rock-pools (often filled with tropical fish) providing a more tranquil experience for those not on boards.

There are a host of villa rental options in the area, both for surfing groups on more of a budget as well as those looking for high-end luxury. The villa owners in the area tend to be of a discerning taste, which has lead to some breathtaking and unique-design vacation rentals in the area, with the focus being on indoor-outdoor living.
