Rafting and river trips

Leave the mundane, work and stress filled world behind and careen through the boiling whitewater on a raft down one of Costa Rica's many magical rivers. Take time out as you float by on the more tranquil sections and try to spot the slinking jaguars and ocelots observing you from within the lush and mysterious jungle.

Why do you suppose that the rafting is so good in Costa Rica? Imagine, it is a country with an abundance of mountains and an average annual rainfall of 350 inches in some places. All that water has to rush down to sea level, and in doing so, provides you with the excitement opportunity of a lifetime.

Given all this, there are abundant rivers for you to navigate, as you might imagine. The Sarapiqui river offers class I and II water in one section and class IV and V in another so there is really something for everybody, depending on where you decide to put in.

The Pacuare river is also a spectacular destination. Its challenge can also go all the way up to class V in places. It meanders through a rain forest which boasts an incredible array of jungle dwelling animals. As well as these are also the mighty Reventazon, Naranjo and Savegre rivers, all which have something different to offer.

There are a variety of operators providing anything from 2 hour to multi-day trips, in anything from a single man kayak, to an inner tube, to a 6 man raft. Safety standards are comparable to anything found in the US, and we are always sure to work with reputable providers to make sure you have an enjoyable trip. Rafting trips can be taken from almost any location on the Pacific coast, or in the Central valley.
